A search engine’s top searches of the year is worth noting – not only now, but in the future, as well – to keep track of who we were interested in at a particular time in history. According to Yahoo! This year, 7 of the top 10 searches were people and 3 were things. While number 4, 6, and 9 were things, all the others were people.

The top search on Yahoo was for singer Miley Cyrus. Number 2 on the list is Kim Kardashian who has been a controversial reality show star. Model-turned-celebrity Kate Upton comes in at number 3.

Number 4 is the first thing on the list. Minecraft, a video game that has been popular for several years is the top thing on the list of 10.

At number 5, singer Selena Gomez is on the list. The next thing on the list is “Obamacare” – the nation’s unofficial name for the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama’s 2010 controversial health care law which is to take effect in 2014.

Number 7 on the list is actress Amanda Bynes who has had more than her share of headlines in the past year. Number 8 Jodi Arias who has been accused of murder. Number 9 is the third and last thing on the list of 10 – which is the iPhone.

Finally, rounding out the list at number 10 is singer Justin Bieber.
