The new web series “Tiny Commando” debuted on Yahoo! Screen Sept. 9, 2013. The action filled comedy centers around Robert Carlyle, an elite navy seal who after a military accident becomes only four inches tall. He has teamed up with detective Mitzy McNeal to solve crimes and fight evil.
The first episode “Snack Attack: Part 1” features Carlyle using his small stature to his advantage in gaining access to a secretive snack factory and uncovering a deadly plot. “Tiny Commando” has an all star cast that includes Zachary Levi (Chuck), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911), Rhys Darby (Flight of the Concords) and Ed Helms (The Hangover) who co-created the series with writer Jacob Fleisher. “Snack Attack: Part 1” also features a nice cameo from Nerdist creator Chris Hardwick geeking out when he finds what he thinks is a “gem mint condition” action figure.
Yahoo has had great success with their comedic web series “Burning Love” and they are working towards developing many more. Besides “Tiny Commando,” Yahoo had added “The Fuzz” a puppet driven comedy that centers around cops and drug dealers, “We Need Help” a satirical improv based comedy starring Cheryl Hines and Rachael Harris, and “Ghost Girls” a ghost hunting parody show to their lineup.
