Y&R heats up as Paul is shot and Summer goes on the run

On CBS' number one soap their promo states “A hero will fall … his life on the line … and his attacker goes on the run!” While Avery (Jessica Collins) is being held at gunpoint by Austin (Matthew Atkinson) Kevin finds that Austin is the one threatening Avery. Dylan (Steve Burton) rushes to Avery and fights for the gun with Austin. The gun goes off and Paul is hit. As paul lays fighting for his life, Christine(LauraLee Bell) waits at his bedside. Dylan stands outside the ICU window, and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scot) pleads for Paul to fight to live. Austin tells Summer (Hunter King) he's going on the run and Summer insists on going with him.

Doug Davidson

This is the start of a summer full of excitement, drama, romance and surprises. Y&R is one soap that always keeps their core families on the screen and The Abbotts, Newmans, Winters and Williams will be in the forefront this summer.

Emmy winner Doug Davidson as Police Chief Paul Williams has been seen much more this past year and will be for the summer. His wife Christine wants to give Paul a child and hopefully their quest will be fulfilled this summer. There is speculation that Paul may be the father of Dylan and that this is Ian's big secret.

Summer putting herself in harms way will affect the Abbots and the Newmans since Jack still thinks he is Summer's father. The return of Phyliss(Gina Tognoni) will surely play into this.

Who's the daddy? Billy or Stitch? Will Kelly(Cady McClain) finally be the one to give up Stitch's secret?

Who will win Jack's heart, Kelly or Phyliss? Will Sharon(Sharon Case) remember pushing Phyliss down the stairs? Will Phyliss remember?

Watch Y&R this summer for all of the answers and for the best entertainment in daytime. Y&R can be seen weekdays on CBS at 12:30 p.m.
