Michael Muhney’s last episode on “The Young and the Restless” has not even aired and there are already rumors swirling that the role of Adam Newman has been or will soon be recast.

Chris McKenna, who previously portrayed Joey Buchanan 20 years ago on the now defunct ABC soap opera “One Life To Live” has been met with executives at “The Young and the Restless” according to a report on Jan. 20 from Celebrity Dirty Laundry. The nature of the meetings between "Y&R" executives and McKenna has not yet been revealed.

McKenna confirmed via Twitter that he has visited the set of “The Young and the Restless” but is unable to comment at this time on any details. Speculation is that Chris McKenna will be introduced as a different character only to find out months later that he is Adam Newman. But fans are not likely to accept any recast of the role of Adam Newman no matter how the production and writing team try to present it.

Michael Muhney fans plan to boycott the show once his final episode airs on Jan. 30 which will make it difficult to determine if any recast, whether or not it is Chris McKenna, will be acceptable. Many say this is just “another example of CBS showing everyone that they will do exactly as they please” and the fans be damned.
