Xtreme International Ice Racing comes to the Independence Events Center

What do you get when you take one 180 pound speedway bike, add a 1200cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, methanol burning power plant, over 1600 metal studs on the front and rear tires, yank the brakes off, and then throw them out on the ice?  Sheer adrenaline generating, heart-pumping, insane motorized mayhem and madness!!

Round six of the AMA backed Xtreme International Ice Racing is coming to the Independence Events Center this weekend, January 2nd and 3rd.   Man and machine rocketing from 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds and then slammin sideways on the ice, man!!  If this doesn't make your hair stand on end, ain't nothing gonna, dude.

World reknown International racers like Charlie (The Edge) Venegas, Anthony "The British Bulldog" Barlow, Paul "Cooperman" Cooper and Shawn (MadDog) McConnel will assure an exciting race card consisting of over 25 races, 4 qualifying heat races on the way to the Main.

Mother has us in the grip of a major chill and associated crud, so leave the scoots at home and motor on over to the Independence Events Center in the cage.   Be sure and get there early and tell'em the KC Motorcycle Examiner sent you.

    Extreme indeed.

We had them in Shreveport a couple of years ago, and they were awesome. But the fuel smell gets pretty intense in an indoor arena.

Yeah, I've seen that before with different venues Mary. This is a brand new facility, so hopefully it will have adequate ventilation for these types of events. I'll let you know!!

    Eric,
I was able to go with my son and two grandsons Saturday night. It was my first time to the new events center and I was really impressed. The races were good and I look forward to visiting the events center again soon..

Kind of catchy. Yeah, we have ice racing here in Colorado, too, and I'll be heading up this weekend or next.
