XSEED Games reveals 2013 lineup

In an announcement yesterday, video game publisher XSEED Games revealed some of the console, PC and handheld titles that gamers can look forward to throughout this year, in addition to the already confirmed “Pandora’s Tower” this spring.

For the Nintendo 3DS gamers can look forward to the release of the simulation/role-playing game “Rune Factory 4”. The game adds new romance options, the ability to select a male or female character, Selphia’s prince or princess, and of course, endless crafting, farming and cooking opportunities. “Rune Factory 4” should be available in the summer of 2013.

XSEED has two titles headed for the PlayStation Vita this year, “Valhalla Knights 3” and “Ys: Memories of Celceta”. “Valhalla Knights 3” is the fourth game in the RPG series published by XSEED Games and should be available in the fall of 2013. The action-RPG, “Ys: Memories of Celceta”, will also be available in the fall and is a reimagining of “Ys IV”, one of the only titles in the franchise to never be released in the west.

PC Gamers will also have something to look forward to this month as XSEED releases “Ys I & II Chronicles+” for Windows PC (Steam). “Ys I & II Chronicles+” is an enhanced remake of the classic titles and includes “Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen” and “Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter”.

Killer is Dead” will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the summer and is from SUDA51’s Grasshopper Manufacture, developed jointly with Kadokawa Games. The game will have players taking on the role of an executioner named Mondo Zappa, who wields a Japanese sword in one hand and interchangeable weapons in his artificial left arm, as he attempts to execute heinous criminals scattered around the world.

On another note, GungHo Online Entertainment announced this week that they have acquired Grasshopper Manufacture. The company joins previously acquired development studios, Gravity, Game Arts and Acquire.
