Forget about the large, bulky Electronic On-board Recorders (EOBR's) that many motor carriers currently use to record a driver's record of duty status; XRS Corporation has announced its newest device: the XRS Mobile Platform.
In preparation for the MAP-21 compliance mandate, this first and only mobile device of its kind is now widely available after currently transferring 360,271,484 megabytes of fleet and driver information.
Not just your typical EOBR, the XRS Mobile Platform works on over fifty different devices including smartphones, handhelds and tablets.
Megan Derkey, XRS Marketing Communications Manager adds:
"XRS customers will see immediate improvements in the speed of data delivery, instantaneous safety and compliance alerts and real-time command of vehicle and driver performance measures, such as speed, fuel economy, idle, braking, clutch use, fault codes and many other variables. There’s also no downtime for hardware installation or driver training, since XRS is 100 percent mobile and cloud-based."
Unlike current EOBR's, the XRS mobile requires no bolting hardware or in-cab installations and they have partnered with major phone carriers such as Verizon, Sprint and AT&T. The device also considerably reduces cost for fleet owners and drivers by offering this newest trucking technology for $39 per month, per subscription.
