Orange County has many exciting events this weekend, one of them starts today Oct 10 at 11 a.m. and is the 2nd weekend this XPO is being held, giving everyone another chance to stop by and enjoy.
Beginning today Oct 10 and going through the 13th, the Orange County Great Park will be hosting XPO 2013- a clean, renewable, and efficient energy exposition. This free event will be open to the public from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. each day over the weekend, during this time there will many features of vital interest to the public, among them:
The Sunshot Innovation Pavilion where an educational trade show features companies, products and services while showcasing the U.S. Department of Energy, educational activities and displays from various solar companies.
The Bosch Community Fund Powerful Ideas Classroom is where the 'Kids Discovery Village' is presented by the Discovery Science Center, with a focus on science, engineering, architecture and energy for preschool through high school students.
The Transportation Zone features the 'Toyota Drive Center' where visitors can test drive Toyota's fuel-efficient hybrids and zero emission plug-in electric vehicles. There is also a competition of different student-designed electric and energy efficient vehicles.
The Palm Court Arts Complex has gallery exhibitions showcasing, how art can be influenced by the environment and the environment by art. There is also an exhibition about the new world of 3D design and 3D printing.
The Food Pavilion is where visitors gather for refreshments from the fresh organic produce and healthy food.
The Competitors Pavilion features the colleges and universities competing in 'Decathlon 2013', and provides information about the technology and innovation used in the student teams' homes. It also features the American Institute of Architects of Orange County Student Design Committee Awards, and the 'Solar Decathlon Alumni Association'.
The ABC Green Home has tours of the 'certified net-zero energy home created by Southern California Edison, as well as a host of innovative and creative vendors and suppliers.
