Seven league games was the limit that Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente was willing to work with Coach Cesar Farias without getting the results they were looking for. After a 1-1 draw with Leones Negros U de G, one of the bottom teams in the Apertura 2014 league table, the team directive decided to terminate the working agreement with the Venezuelan who arrived at the “dog pound” last season.

The team is currently in its worst start since reaching first division soccer. The Apertura 2011 was Xolos’ introduction to La Liga MX, which proved a difficult challenge for then coach Joaquin Del Olmo. He would be replaced by Antonio Mohamed, who would take the team to the Apertura 2012 title.

Farias had a mediocre season during the Clausura 2014 with 7 wins, 3 draws, and 7 losses. It was enough for the Aztec dogs to reach the playoffs, but were quickly eliminated by Toluca FC in the quarterfinals. This season Xolos have won a single game, a 2-1 victory over Chiapas FC during week 5. They have four draws and two losses. They began the season with a loss against Puebla FC at the Caliente Stadium.

With the upcoming FIFA week, La Liga MX will take a one week hiatus allowing the rojinegros to search for a replacement.
