Specs details for an upcoming smartphone from fast growing Chinese phone maker, Xiaomi recently surfaced on the Antutu benchmark website. The Xiaomi Mi4 flagship phone features some top of the line hardware, making it a major contender on the Android device market.

As PhoneArena reports (Feb. 12), the Xiaomi Mi4 1080p resolution display smartphone features the same powerful processor that powers the upcoming HTC One 2 and Samsung Galaxy S5. Data retrieved from the Antutu benchmark site reveals that the Mi4 houses a 2.46GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU 800 CPU. Also on deck is an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 13GB of built-in storage. The Mi4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, complemented by an 8-megapixel shooter on the front. The phone used for the test is a prototype running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the release version could see an Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Slated for a 2014 release, the Mi4 serves as the follow-up device to the successful Xiaomi Mi3. According to CNET, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak who owns the Mi3, recently co-signed on its ability to challenge high-end phones sold in the U.S. market. "Xiaomi has excellent products. They're good enough to break the American market," Wozniak said.

Xiaomi launched its first Android based smartphone in 2011 called the Mi-One, followed by the Mi2 in 2012 and the 2013 Mi3. Xiaomi plans to sell 40 million handsets this year, doubling its 2013 sales.
