If a dog barks in the living room, and no one’s around to hear it, does it still make a sound? Comcast is helping customers answer this question and many more—What does Fluffy do all day? Which dog is jumping onto the couch?—thanks to Xfinity Home.
Xfinity Home provides live video streaming inside the house that customers can watch remotely from their computers, smartphones or tablets, to ensure pets are safe, secure and staying out of trouble. Think: Kitty Cam with a purpose other than pure cuteness.
However, tools offered through Xfinity Home are more than just an opportunity to keep an eye on pets. This technology and others are truly changing the face of responsible pet care. For example, pet owners can now:
- Receive text alerts when doors open or close so customers know when the dog walker or pet sitter arrives and leaves through Xfinity Home
- Track your pet’s location and receive a text or an email if your dog escapes the yard via Tagg— The Pet Tracker
- Automatically change the litter box or feed Fido thanks to Litter Maid’s litter box cleaner and Pet Safe’s pet feeder
- Remotely change the thermostat when the weather quickly changes, which is especially helpful in Denver where it’s raining cats and dogs one second and hotter than a cat on hot tin roof the next, with Xfinity Home
