According to a report today from VG 24/7, Microsoft director of product management and planning Albert Penello said Xbox One users will have to wait to utilize video capture with games on YouTube and Facebook.
However, Penello said the Xbox One will allow for captured video to be uploaded directly to Xbox Live as soon as the console launches in November.
Penello made the announcement while demonstrating the Xbox One interface to Destructoid, which reported the game capture was quick and a 30 second clip saved in 720p almost instantly using Kinect’s voice-activated command.
Just last week Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 would allow for video capture via the console’s HDMI ports.
It was originally rumored that the PS4 wouldn’t allow for video capture because of HDCP could have prevented any legal way to capture video on the unit since the console doesn’t come with an AV component output.
The Xbox One launches on Nov. 22 in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
