Xbox One & PS4 peripheral features: Wait and see for 'Inquisition', says BioWare

Dragon Age Inquisition is setting up to be an extremely ambitious title and to make that even more true, BioWare is considering adding in some additional functionality with the SmartGlass, Kinect or PS Move, perhaps.

While they are not confirming any features quite yet, Dragon Age: Inquisition producer Cameron Lee said they are closely monitoring features from upcoming games and will gauge consumers' reactions to those new techniques.

"We've thought about it, we've looked at it, the SmartGlass stuff, the Kinect, the PS4's Move and all that. One of the advantages of shipping a year after everyone else is that we get to see how everybody responds to these things, during the new generation.

"So, we want to take the time to look at how they work, and how players react. We don't just want to jump in and say this is what we're going to do, because it may not be what players want, it may not be a good experience.

"We have the luxury of time, to see how people respond and then craft something where if we want to do that, it's the right thing to do. So we'll see where we land with it, and we'll take it from there," Lee said.

It's interesting that Lee brought up SmartGlass because it is a tool that we will no doubt see more of as we progress through this generation. Project Spark is a game that immediately comes to mind when thinking about how future games will utilize peripherals like SmartGlass.

Besides, BioWare is no stranger to implementing features with the Kinect and making them successful. They did that with Mass Effect 3 and it worked out incredibly well.

We'll all be on the lookout for Dragon Age: Inquisition toward the end of this year, but for all of our latest exclusives, previews, reviews and features, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook. Game On.
