With the announcement of the Xbox Live Cloud service now known as Xbox Live Compute, developers have a lot of power at their fingertips when developing for the Xbox One. In an exclusive interview with John Bruno, Lead Program Manager of Xbox Live, he offered some insight as to the limits of the system.
"We have some policies around how we provide compute power to Xbox One developers," Bruno began, "Most of those we do not disclose, but suffice to say, the CP power we do provide, it is unlimited in terms of scale."
But how much power can each developer have, we asked? "...[W]e provide a certain amount of compute power per game session for multiplayer games," he continued. "Whether there['s] one session or millions of sessions we provide all of the scale and power to meet that demand."
That doesn't mean that the service will only be valid for multiplayer games though as we've seen with titles like Forza Motorsport 5 the system does open up very interesting possibilities.
