Xbox One and PS4: 'Rayman Legends' new VIP status explained by designer

Among the new features and options players will be able to enjoy when they step into Rayman Legends on Xbox One and PS4, let us introduce you to the new VIP status feature.

Examiner.com had the chance to exclusively speak with Rayman Legends' lead game designer Emile Morel about the new status feature as well as how this new detail will help embellish and improve upon the game's overall social experience.

"We improved the community and social aspect by adding a new VIP status in the Online Challenges of the game. This status (visible in the game’s various leaderboards) is linked to a new playable character (called Champion Ray) and it will be granted to the most active and highest-ranked players in the Online Challenges, and to players strongly involved in the Rayman Legends community.

"When we’ve seen how much time and experience it takes for some of these Online Challenges and we had to do something special for this level of player," Morel said.

For all players who were very active with Rayman Legends on current-gen systems, and still want to be on next-gen, this will be a great way to reward and recognize the time and expertise players display. Online and social aspects continue to be a strong point of emphasis for developers, and Rayman Legends looks to continue this trend.

Competition will be at the heart of Rayman's online component and Ubisoft has done their best, with the time given, to make sure this comes to fruition. We'll all see just how much this improves the game's experience when it launches on PS4 and Xbox One this Feb. 18th.
