Microsoft updates the Xbox One with new features and fixes.
On behalf of Microsoft and the Xbox One, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has released information regarding the latest system update in progress for the Xbox One console. The update, which will be released over the course of the week, will improve upon and introduce a number of features. Since some of the features are rather subtle, the Atlantic City Xbox Examiner will review the highlights of the mid-April system update as detailed in Major Nelson’s article “New Xbox One System Update Begins Rolling Out.”
Keeping track of updates
Users will be able to inspect game saves, games, and apps for recent and pending activity.
Users will receive notifications when friends and favorites sign into Xbox Live.
Voice and motion recognition for the Kinect have been updated for greater accuracy and to limit false readings.
Video quality boost
The video quality of GameDVR and the Blu-ray player app will be enhanced.
The Xbox One controller and headset adapter will receive firmware updates to improve connectivity and reduce static feedback.
System update improvements
Consoles on Instant On will automatically return to standby after downloading the system update. Users will have more options for setting how the console responds to future updates.
