According to Game Informer's website, Microsoft has announced its new Games with Gold lineup for January. The first of these games will be available on New Years Day. The first title that will be readily available is Sleeping Dogs, the open-world crime drama. From January 1st to January 15th, Xbox Live Gold members can download this title for free.

From January 1 through January 15, 2014, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to download United Front Games’ Sleeping Dogs. This open world crime drama features action on both sides of the law as detective Wei Shen goes undercover in the streets of Hong Kong.

The second game will be available for download from January 16th to January 31st. Members will be able to download Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Both of these titles look to build on an impressive foundation in the Games with Gold program. Once downloaded, these games can be played whenever, regardless of what membership the player has. In comparison, PlayStation Plus requires players to still be a member to access the content.

From January 16 through January 31, 2014, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a co-op puzzle platformer, will be free. In order to download the games, you’ll need to be an Xbox Live Gold member. Once you have them though, they are yours, regardless of ongoing membership status.
