Microsoft recently announced that they will be holding an Xbox LIVE free Gold weekend starting March 8th through March 10th allowing gamers to play online multiplayer temporarily for free. The event is being sponsored by BioShock Infinite which is set to be released worldwide on March 26th for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
In addition to having the free Gold weekend, Microsoft is also holding several game-specific events. For example, playing Halo 4 online for at least one hour during the weekend will earn you an exclusive Halo avatar. Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III will give out double XP, and Borderlands 2 fans will be able to get their hands on an exclusive Gold Key by using the code 5BCTT-XX6SC-ZSXJX-KFJBJ-66R5W at the Loot Chest in Sanctuary mode.

In addition to all that, the Rockstar Developers will also be playing online with fans on March 8th in Max Payne 3 (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. GMT), Red Dead Redemption (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. GMT), Midnight Club L.A. (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. GMT), and Grand Theft Auto IV (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. GMT). Their gamertags can be found in the link above.
