Microsoft is gearing up for an enormous showing at this year’s E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) event and their plans posted recently to Xbox Wire show that.

Senior Xbox Evangelist, Jeff Rubenstein, reports that on Sunday, June 8th; Microsoft will be holding a special event at the Century City Microsoft Store in Los Angeles in which 100 people can gain access to this year’s Microsoft Xbox media briefing trough a raffling process in addition to winning an opportunity to attend the post show in which fans can interact on a more personal level with Microsoft personnel such as Bonnie Ross from 343 Industries; Phil Spencer, the head of the Xbox division, and more. Such an opportunity has never before been afforded to the general public.

Also reported in Jeff Rubenstein’s posting is Microsoft’s focus on making their upcoming games more upfront and in full view for the public as they will be giving a ‘Hands On’ look at independent games developed through the Xbox team’s ID@Xbox program. A separate event is also planned for the highly anticipated ‘Sunset Overdrive’ from Insomniac Games again taking place at the Century City Microsoft store on June 11th.

Whether it be Microsoft’s new found focus on Independent Games with the ID@Xbox program or their raffle event granting 100 lucky fans access to their media briefing, Microsoft is showing a new strategy that many would have questioned them on in the past due to a previously seemingly unfriendly demeanor.

With speculation building on what other goodies Microsoft may be planning to unveil, this year’s E3 definitely is an important one for the global giant as it could easily formulate a lasting opinion about the company and how they view their gaming division. Gamers will be attentive as always.

The Spotlight shines on Microsoft June 9th, 2014 when their Xbox media briefing takes place.
