Xbox 720 to cause decline in sales for 'Battlefield 4' (Photos)

The Xbox 720 has been a bit quiet lately, but apparently there is some new talk from one of the more familiar analysts, who believes the upcoming installment in "Battlefield" will see some sales declines.

According to a report from GamingBolt yesterday, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter talked about how "Call of Duty" will most likely not be impacted by the upcoming changes in the gaming industry, but "Battlefield 4" could.

"I think it's fair to say that 'Call of Duty' at or near the top of its annual sales potential has arrived and we are likely to see strong sales at that level, with effect from the competition in the future."

"Some people may wait for the console launch, and some are attracted to 'Battlefield,' so it is very likely that we will experience a modest decline in sales.

"This is not the fault of Activision, but the testament of a phenomenal success and the available power of the 'Call of Duty' brand," Pachter said.

No matter what, it will be interesting to see how consumers interact with the new consoles because of whatever price they will be at, what games are available for next-generation and current-generation systems and how advanced these systems really are.

No one knows how things will ultimately shake out, but there will be some definite information that gamers can look forward to in the near future.
