Xbox 720's 'Dead Space 4' is not quite lifeless (Photos)

If there is a "Dead Space 4" then gamers would surely be receiving the title on the Xbox 720, but yesterday's news did allege the game had been cancelled by EA.

According to a report from IGN yesterday, that rumor is untrue and EA has not cancelled another installment quite yet.

EA responded to the rumors by saying they were "flat-out not true" and that Visceral Montreal, the studio that was thought to have closed, is still alive and well.

EA did not confirm one way or the other about if there would be another installment in the "Dead Space" franchise.

"While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and the franchise remains an important IP to EA," EA said.

Yesterday, it was reported that "Dead Space 4" had been cancelled today, which was due to the lower than expected sales performance of "Dead Space 3."

An inside source at EA said the unannounced "Dead Space 4" had been in the middle of pre-production at Visceral Games.

There was also another small team at Visceral Montreal that was supposedly working with new developing prototypes for the game. They were working on the game's narrative as well.

So "Dead Space 4" is not quite dead.
