Through an article posted yesterday on a fan site for “Medal Gear Solid,” it has come to our attention that Kojima has discussed a few ideas behind Sony and Microsoft's next generation systems, which is expected to be the Xbox 720 and PS4. From the information given, Kojima suggests that, in the near future, these systems will be capable of rendering graphics that will compare to blockbuster movies.
In reference to this, Kojima states that he does not only want to deliver a fantastic graphical presentation, but also give players a deeper involvement in the gameplay mechanics within the game. In comparison, Kojima states that he wants the player to believe that they are playing a movie. As there has not been any official information given on the Xbox 720 and PS4, he states that further details will be made clearer as information comes available.
As for the development of “Ground Zeroes,” Kojima insists that the long cutscenes that were apparent in “Metal Gear Solid 4” will not be in this title. He states that a new method of telling the narrative behind the game will be used. Describing this process, he states that players will have more freedom with the tasks that they perform, while being fed the story elements within the game based on the order of their actions.
