As the life-cycle for current generation consoles are coming to an end, many gamers are looking on to the release of Sony and Microsoft's next generation consoles, which is expected to be the PS4 and Xbox 720. Speaking of this, many voices within the video game industry have speculated that these two systems will be announced sometime this year, with an official launch by the holiday season of 2013.
Yesterday, the official website for Major Nelson, which is ran by Microsoft, posted something that has never been done before in preparation for E3. As can be seen on MajorNelson.com, Microsoft has now delivered an official countdown to E3 2013.
With the listing of this countdown, it can only be assumed that Microsoft is preparing for a major announcement at this year's E3 event. As stated above, it has been heavily speculated that Microsoft will reveal the Xbox 720 during the summer of 2013, while this event will provide Microsoft with the prime opportunity to do so.
Fans of the Xbox 720 may want to take a look at the slide-show that is featured above this article, which features concept photos of this system.
