Xbox 720 and PS4 to feature the release of a new 'Dead Island' title (Photos)

According to a statement that was fulfilled by Deep Silver's creative director, Guido Eickmeyer, it appears that the studio currently has plans to release a next-generation “Dead Island” title for the Xbox 720 and PS4. This information comes from an article that was posted by VideoGamer yesterday, in which Eickmeyer was questioned about the future of the “Dead Island” franchise.

In response to this question, Eickmeyer stated the following:

"Well, it would be surprising to shut down a franchise after such an outstanding
success. What I can tell you at this point: There will be a lot of exciting news for our
fans this year."

Currently, it is speculated that Microsoft and Sony will be announcing their next generation systems in the coming months, which is currently being referred to as the Xbox 720 and PS4. With Eickmeyer stating that there will be exciting news for fans of this franchise later this year, it can only be concluded that he is leading us to believe that a “Dead Island” title for the Xbox 720 and PS4 is indeed in development.
