"Thief 4" was thought to be the name of the next installment in the franchise, but it looks like this new title will be called "Thief," and new gameplay mechanics details are out now.
According to a report from GamingEverything on Tuesday, some new, major details have been spilled regarding the upcoming PS4 title "Thief."
Among the mechanics that were revealed were things such as: a navigation beacon that shows players where to go, players can explore environments as they choose, multiple entrances and exists in each room people go in, plenty of options available for stealth approach and a new “Focus” mechanic that can aid Garrett’s vision as he navigates through open levels.
Other features that were revealed were things such as: a new focus lights up the screen and highlights pipes you can climb along with candles people can put out to make a room darker, an upgradeable focus, which will give you a bigger radius of things to see and another system that gives people hints on which drawers are best to look in.
In addition to those features, every drawer is accessible to gamers, people can pickpocket, using Focus will slow down time and can allow gamers to steal up to three times as many items, people can spend money to upgrade supplies and equipment after each mission, certain artifacts are findable and can be used to decorate Garrett's hideout.
Finally, Garrett is driven by the thrill of stealing from others, when players Focus they will see a number of attack options, players can select a point, which will allow them to make a quicker escape from where they are, they can put together multiple points of attack and the major mechanics for the game don't need further development.
"Thief" will be available for PS4 and most likely Xbox 720.
