Many have found it difficult to imagine succeeding consoles coming after the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 debut, and an analyst believes the aforementioned sentiment to be true.
According to a report from Destructoid yesterday, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter talked about how he believes the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 will be the final consoles the gaming industry will ever see.
In the same instance, Pachter also talked about how he believes games for the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 will be sold for $70, instead of the $60 gamers have been use to during this past generation.
Recently, video games developer Ben Cousins said eventually the amount of money that is being spent on major console games will make it too expensive for any developer to continue making them.
"Without this huge group of people buying consoles or console games, the console platform holders will no longer be able to make enough money to justify developing, marketing, and manufacturing the devices.
"I spent eight years of my life working on console games for companies like Microsoft, Sony and EA.
"The reason I moved to mobile a year and a half ago is precisely because I came to the conclusion the consoles were on their way out. I bet my career on it," Cousins said.
