Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 need to cure gamers' hunger for innovation (Photos)

When the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 are released, people will get the chance to see what new innovations and tech the systems have because that is what people are desperately wanting.

According to a report from BSMH on Friday, Tony Bartel, president of GameStop, talked about how gamers are hungry for innovation.

"It’s clear consumers are hungry for innovation in console gaming technology.

"Our PowerUp Rewards community echoes this sentiment with hundreds of thousands of them already signing up for our PS4 First to Know list.

"I think we’ll see tremendous demand for PS4 this holiday," Bartel said.

Bartel spoke about how he is interested in seeing what developers do with streaming tech, as well as how important the PS4 price will be.

"Gaming continues to become more social, so I think this will be a great selling feature for the PS4. I am very interested in how this technology will be used by developers, too.

"Price point is always an important factor, especially in a tough economic climate. We expect a lot of consumers to utilize our buy-sell-trade model to offset the price of the new system.

"GameStop put more than $1 billion in trade currency back in the hands of the consumer last year and that can do a lot to kick start the next console cycle," Bartel said.

PS4 will be released this coming holiday season.
