Xbox 360 or Ps3: Which are you?

Out of all of the many gaming systems currently available to the public, two of them have stood above the rest. Xbox and PlayStation both have been strong leaders of the gaming world, each bring something different to the table and offering different gaming experiences. As both systems may have very different worlds, it is expected that those worlds would be inhabited by different kinds of gamers, but which gaming console is truly right for a specific type of consumer?

For gamers who love and crave social interaction, Xbox 360 is the console for them. The Xbox Live service offers gamers the option of forming a party, a unique feature that puts gamers in a private group voice chat. This key feature allows groups to navigate and set up multiplayer games with the same group. In addition to the party feature, Xbox also includes, instant messaging with a WindowsLive ID, voice messaging and the classic personal text message. These features make Xbox a great way to connect with and make friends for all locations of the world.

Ps3, on the other hand, is very strongly gaming oriented. Most interactions with other players is text based. The headset, or voice chatting is mainly used when in the game to aid players in communicating with one another in order to make strategies or just chew the fat. While PlayStation is a game oriented system, it offers a very unique take on the social aspect with PlayStation Home. PsHome is a sim game in which you create an avatar and can communicate with others player’s avatars via the text chat options. Players can download and explore different areas of the “world” to explore and purchase new and exclusive content.

Both Xbox 360 and Ps3 have their unique aspects of gaming, which makes both consoles worth checking out. Whether consumers are social butterflies or a lone wolves, there is a game console out there for everyone. The question is, Xbox or PlayStation?
