Undead Labs announced yesterday that they are very close to sending off the first content complete version of their upcoming zombie game, “State of Decay,” for Xbox Live Arcade to Microsoft for evaluation. This would be one huge step in getting the undead survival arcade title into the hands of gamers. To help celebrate this exciting news, the developer also released a new batch of screenshots yesterday to show off various scenes of an upcoming teaser trailer which depicts home life from the game’s base-building mechanic.

In “State of Decay,” players will be able to set up fort bases that will offer them better protection from the undead and that can be upgraded in order to provide many different benefits. After bringing resources gathered from the world back to their base, gamers can then spend those resources on a number of things including, but not limited to, building various different types of structures on plots to protect them from the zombie apocalypse. Buildings, garages, and gardening land (as the trailer shows) are just the beginning of the choices that will available to players in the final game from Undead Labs.

State of Decay” is currently in development by Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios for release on Xbox Live Arcade at unknown date that is shambling ever closer just like the game’s zombie foes.
