Xathrid Necromancer is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming "Magic: 2014 Core Set." Revealed in a promotional Wizards Play Network video on YouTube, Xathrid Necromancer can raise a horde of zombie creatures from the dead.

Whenever Xathrid Necromancer or another Human creature you control dies, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield tapped.

Like Fiendslayer Paladin, Xathrid Necromancer will grow your Champion of the Parish. In fact, this Wizard was made for Human decks, providing a "get there" effect against removal and benefiting decks which like to sacrifice their creatures.
Gather the Townsfolk and Thraben Doomsayer create delicious snacks for an Archdemon of Greed, and you'll be rewarded with a 2/2 zombie in the process from your Xathrid Necromancer. A more competitive idea might be to include Xathrid Necromancer in a deck abusing Skirsdag High Priest, such as Tom Martell's "The Aristocrats." One card that works particularly well alongside Xathrid Necromancer is Thatcher Revolt.
Because Xathrid Necromancer's ability triggers whenever one of your Human creatures dies, it pairs well alongside Dark Prophecy.
