Godzilla may be able to hold his own against the U.S. military and Mothra, but he didn't stand a chance against the X-Men.

Fox's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" took down everyone's favorite lizard as it made a heroic $90.7 million domestically and $171 million overseas. The $261 million dollar haul was more than enough to take on the top box office spot leaving "Godzilla" a distant second at $30 million.

The final tally won't be in until Monday for the Memorial Day weekend, but Marvel's merry band of mutants have lapped the rest of the field in its opening week. The other big name debut "Blended" starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is expected to pull in $14 million for the weekend. That's a bit of a surprise since the Sandler/Barrymore pairing has yielded box office gold with "The Wedding Singer" and "50 First Dates" in the past. "Blended" marks his lowest opening in five years.

Universal's Zac Efron/Seth Rogen comedy "Neighbors" held on to fourth place with $13. 9 million. It's brought in nearly $117 million domestically, but apparently bad neighbors are universal as it's also made an additional $67 million worldwide.

Another Marvel Superhero is still raking in the dough. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" rounds out the top five with an estimated $7.8 million, bringing it's domestic total to $187.1 million. The webslinger is even bigger overseas having racked up over $489 million in foreign receipts.
