On March 24, 2014, the second official trailer for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" premiered. In the first 24 hours of its premiere, the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" U.S. trailer racked up about three million views on the official "X-Men" movie YouTube channel.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" (which features a time-traveling storyline and an all-star cast from previous "X-Men" movies) opens in the U.S. and Canada on May 23, 2014. The movie's release dates in other countries may vary.

Here is 20th Century Fox's description of "X-Men: Days of Future Past":

"The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' The beloved characters from the original 'X-Men' film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from 'X-Men: First Class,' in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future."

The cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" includes Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.

As previously reported, several of these cast members gathered for a "surprise" appearance at Comic-Con International in San Diego on July 20, 2013.

In "X-Men: Days of Future Past," the character of Professor X is played by McAvoy (Professor X as a young man) and Stewart (Professor X as an old man), while the character of the villain Magneto is played by Fassbender (Magneto as a young man) and Ian McKellen (Magneto as an old man).

Here is what they said at the Comic-Con press conference about playing the same characters at different stages in those characters' lives:

Stewart commented, "The best part of this movie is knowing that, at an earlier time in my life, I was James McAvoy."

McAvoy added, "And if I’m going to grow up to be someone, who better than Sir Patrick Stewart?"

McKellen joked, "I’m looking forward to being as dashing and successful as Michael."

Fassbender said, "We still can’t believe our luck, that we’re still allowed out."

As for the costumes in "X-Men Days of Future Past," McAvoy commented, "My threads are awesome! Lots of flair, chunky shoes, psychedelic shirts, lot of brown jackets going on."

Jackman added, "In the future, the X-Men suits are unbelievable. First of all, hell of a lot more comfortable to wear than 'X-Men' 1 and 2, but they look really amazing. People in the future wear suits who have never worn suits before. That’s all I’m going to say."
