X-Men battle the Sentinels in first clip of Days of Future Past

With X-Men: Days of Future Past almost a month away, it should be no shock that the summer film will be advertised like crazy. While the final trailer is scheduled to hit the web tomorrow, it seems that the comic book movie is already gaining the attention of viewers across the world. Last night during the MTV Movie Awards, the latest entry in the X-Men franchise made an appearance with the film's first clip. The clips is part of the film's opening sequence with the X-Men of the future facing off the high-tech sentinels. During the scene, we see the likes of Kitty Pryde, Iceman, Bishop, Blink and Sunfire show off their abilities against the looming enemy.

The scene is only a minute in length, but in that short time, the clip show off a lot. Viewers get a good look at many of the film's ensemble and it seems that every character stands out from the rest. Even with a character like Sunfire, who seemed to be doing his best Human Torch interpretation in the movie's trailer, looked impressive. It is clear that a lot of detail is going into the mutants in Days of Future Past as it can be seen by this showcasing of their powers. To top it all off, this clip is simply stunning and it might have moviegoers begging for more.

Days of Future Past continues to the stories of X-Men: First Class and X-Men:The Last Stand. In a desperate act, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) travels into the past in order to prevent a cataclysmic war. Logan must seek help from the young Xavier (James McAvoy) and his X-Men in order to prevent the threat of the Sentinels. However, in order for X-Men's plan to succeed, they will also need the help of the young Magneto (Michael Fassbender).

The film stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, Adan Canto, Lucas Till and Peter Dinklage.
