Bryan Singer set Twitter aflutter with his tweet that “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be released in 2016, according to a Dec. 5 report on The Verge. The director is currently busy filming “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, the highly anticipated installment in the X-Men franchise that will together mutants from “X-Men: First Class” and the original series.
Early projections have the release date pegged on May 27, 2016 so mark your calendars. It has yet to be confirmed that Singer will direct “X-Men: Apocalypse” but fans are taking it as sign that he will since he is the one who made the announcement. It could be really good for the franchise given Singer’s history with it.
Until then, we will have to wait patiently until “X-Men: Days of Future Past” hits theaters on May 23, 2014 in order to get our fill of our favorite mutants. The trailer for ‘Future Past’ accompanies this article if you want to get your taste buds drooling.
