When ESPN released the details of the 2013 X Games, they included events from the usual favorites and added a few new ones. Now, after the devastating crash and subsequent death of Caleb Moore during the snowmobile freestyle event in Denver, the event hosts have decided to suspend that event's presence in the Games. ESPN released the following statement earlier this week:
“Our review of snowmobile freestyle continues, and in the meantime we have decided to forego the planned demonstration freestyle event at X Games Tignes.”
The next stop on the tour is Tignes, France. But while the action in Tignes will be missing the snowmobile freestyle, the schedule in France includes the debut of Real Ski Backcountry. Consider it a wash?
X Games Tignes kicks off March 20.
