Jackson Strong, X Games star, is really upset with ESPN for canceling the snowmobile freestyle competition. According to TMZ on Feb. 21, ESPN pulled the competition after the death of Caleb Moore just tree weeks ago in Aspen.
The competition was scheduled next month in France, but since Moore’s death ESPN has since pulled it. Strong feels this is not what Moore would have wanted. Strong feels that the X Games or any action sport comes with risks and those that compete are completely aware of the risks.
Jackson Strong has had his own brush with death in the X Games. Strong admits there are risks but that is true with any sport.
Caleb Moore died on Jan. 31 when he suffered injuries when attempting to backflip on his 450 lb. snowmobile. ESPN says they are still reviewing snowmobile freestyle, but a lot of critics believe that the sport should be eliminated altogether. Do you think the sport should be eliminated or are these just chances you take with sports? Sound off in comments below.
