"The X Factor" USA final four each showed their collective chops while delivering various tunes during the small screen talent show that lasted two hours. That said, Jeff Gutt was given the Leonard Cohen tune called "Hallelujah" on Dec. 11 courtesy of the fans who asked that this crooner take on this familiar song for the semifinals on this Fox reality show.
So, how did Jeff Gutt fare with this particular assignment?
The enduring singer who is the last member of the over 25 contenders to continue on with the competition apparently nailed his rendition of the iconic tune. Well, this is true if the 'X Factor' USA judges were accurate with their discerning comments.
Indeed, arbiter Demi Lovato approved of this rendition of "Hallelujah" while Paulina Rubio was also happy about the popular cover of the popular song.
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell was (surprisingly) enthusiastic about what Jeff Gutt brought to the "X Factor" stage during the semifinals as well.
So what did Jeff's mentor, Kelly Rowland, think about how Gutt did with his first song of the evening?
The often harsh critic told the crowd in the house and the audience at home that not only was she proud of her guy, but she was going to download this Jeff Gutt song from iTunes as soon as was physically possible.
And so, on "The X Factor" USA for the top 4, Jeff Gutt covered 'Hallelujah on Dec. 11 for the semifinals — and apparently nailed it. Does this mean he make it to the finals next week of this very competitive show? Stay tuned.
