"X Factor" USA aired a third installment of summer auditions on Sept 18, 2013. As always viewers were treated to a few good singers sprinkled among those who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. But as always two or three exceptional voices were thrown into the mix, just to keep us interested. Brandie Love was one of those exceptional few who actually has what might be called the X Factor.
What was unusual about Brandie Love's "X Factor" audition was there was no heart rending background story. Love is a 21-year-old orthodontic assistant from Rocky Mount, NC who professes to be a "country girl". Brandie has a boyfriend that's a helicopter pilot in the Army and she wanted to audition for "X Factor" before his deployment. So, I was expecting a mediocre audition at best but instead I was knocked off my feet.
Brandie Love chose to perform "Up to the Mountain" for her "X Factor" USA audition. Love explained that she didn't choose a country song because being a country girl everything she sang came out as country. Well being a country music fan, I was searching for the country flair and I for one didn't hear it but that's alright, her rendition of this well loved folk song was spot on. I love this girl!
When Love completed her audition many audience members were wiping tears from their eyes. This girl puts so much emotion, so much soul and so much of her very being into her performance that it's no wonder the "X Factor" audience jumped to their feet in a standing ovation. The judges were impressed as well giving praises such as "You've got the X Factor honey", and "I predict great things for you".
Well, I predict great things for Brandie Love. "X Factor" is just the beginning for this young lady.
