"X Factor" USA 2013 auditions continued on Sept 18, 2013 and on this night fans were pleasantly surprised with a familiar face, Jeffrey Adam Gutt who was returning once again for another shot at the 5 million dollar recording contract. Jeff, who was known as Jeffrey Adam Gutt last year on "X Factor" was cut during boot camp, never making it to live programming. This is his final shot at being discovered.
Gutt started his "X Factor" audition with Steven Tyler's, "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" and to be honest it was pretty terrible. Simon Cowell stopped Jeff mid-audition, "That sounded like you were trying to impersonate Steven Tyler and that's not a good thing. I'm really disappointed. I couldn't put you through to the next round with that. But, I really want to hear your voice...What else you got?"
Radiohead's,"Creep", was Jeff Gutt's second choice for his "X Factor" audition and I have to say it was much better. This song was more suited to his voice and the judges agreed putting Gutt through to the next level of competition. Simon Cowell told the ecstatic rocker, "You got away last year but you're not getting away this year!"
Jeff Gutt received 4 yeses from the "X Factor" judges putting him through to the next level but he's going to have to step up his game in order to keep progressing much further than that. Gutt's 2012 "X Factor" audition of "Hallelujah" was so utterly amazing that even crotchety Simon Cowell couldn't criticize, "Jeffrey, I've heard that song a lot. I've set in this chair a long time. It was one of the most brilliant auditions I've heard."
Does Jeff Gutt have what it takes to win "X Factor" 2013? Time will tell but I can say one thing with absolute certainty. I'm a big fan.
