"X Factor" USA continued auditions on Sept 25, 2013 and at that time we were introduced to a very nervous Tim Olstad. It's perfectly normal to be on edge when performing in front of thousands of people but this young man was really scared. Did he blow his chance at wowing the "X Factor" judges?
Before his "X Factor" audition Tim Olstad confessed to the cameras that he was extremely nervous, "I don't want my nerves to get in the way. I don't want to ruin my performance. I don't know if I can do this...sometimes I get fidgety or my hands shake or something like that. I'm really hoping that isn't a problem today."
Well, it was a problem. Tim's hands shook so bad that at times it looked like he was about to drop his microphone...but he didn't. His facial expression and body language conveyed pure terror but his voice was serene, confident, pure pleasure. "A Thousand Years" was the perfect song choice for Tim's "X Factor" audition. The judges were blown away.
Kelly Rowland - "It felt like your voice just came over me like a blanket of love. It was so beautiful. The chords in that song worked for your voice you knew exactly where to take us. I feel like you know yourself as an artist and you know your place. That's such a beautiful gift."
Demi Lovato - "First of all, I have the chills when you sang and I don't get that very often here. And I get it. I don't want you to do anything bad 'cause you're just so lovable, you're so cute just the way you are. You're just so...I get it, I get it. You don't have to be edgy. You are so cute the way that you are. I think people are really, really gonna like you. You're so talented."
Paulina Rubio - "I agree. You're like a little teddy bear that I wanted to hug you forever. You nailed it. You did it with your heart, you just didn't expect this so congratulations...I really feel that you were born for this."
A yes from both Paulina and Kelly but Demi summed up Tim's audition as only Demi can, "You have the kind of voice where if someone's really having a rough day you can make them smile. Sooo....yes."
Simon Cowell, who was running late caught the tail end of Tim's "X Factor" audition and told fellow judges, "I just heard someone who was very good. Someone singing, A Thousand Years".
Yes you did Simon...that was Tim Olstad.
