"The X Factor" U.K. viewers flooded the Internet with complaints after the "judges' houses" episode that aired on Oct. 5, 2013. In the episode, it was revealed which contestants in the Boys and Overs categories were chosen to perform in the live episodes that begin on Oct. 12, 2013. Based on these numerous complaints, many "X Factor" viewers are protesting the eliminations of Paul Akister in the Boys category and Joseph Whelan in the Overs category.
"The X Factor" U.K. sometimes allows the public to vote for an eliminated contestant to re-enter the competition as a "wild card" contestant. Viewers are demanding that the show allow Akister (who is 24) and Whelan (who is 27) to be among the "wild card" contenders if there is going to be "wild card" voting that is open to the public this year.
In the meantime, "X Factor" U.K. judges Louis Walsh (mentor of the Boys category in 2013) and Sharon Osbourne (mentor of the Overs category in 2013) arr getting slammed by viewers for their decisions to eliminate Akister and Whelan.

The "judges' houses" episode for the Girls and Groups categories will be televised on Oct. 6, 2013, when it will be revealed which three contestants from each category were chosen for the live episodes.
Every year, there are viewer complaints about who gets eliminated on "The X Factor," but the eliminations of Akister and Whelan in 2013 are particularly controversial, since the overwhelming majority of "X Factor" viewers seem to be very unhappy about these eliminations. Akister in particular seems to have developed a large fan base in the short time that he has been seen on "The X Factor" U.K.
