Simon Cowell ("The X Factor" executive producer) was in Barbados, where he has been vacationing with his ex-girlfriends Sinitta, Jackie St. Clair and Mezhgan Hussainy.
Harry Styles of One Direction ("The X Factor" U.K. third-place place finalist in 2010) was in New York City, where he went to a Jay-Z/Coldplay concert in Brooklyn before heading to Times Square in Manhattan to watch his girlfriend Taylor Swift perform for ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest." Louis Tomlinson of One Direction ("The X Factor" U.K. third-place place finalist in 2010) had a party in his hometown of Doncaster, England. He tweeted: "Happy new year everyone. Thank you for making the last year so special ! Also thank to everyone who came to the party last night was such a good way to spend New Year's Eve!" According to The Sun, the party had a photo booth, and the backyard was turned into a ice-skating rink.
Niall Horan of One Direction ("The X Factor" U.K. third-place place finalist in 2010) was in his home country of Ireland. He tweeted: "Happy New Year guys! Thanks for 2012! 2013 let's gooo."
Liam Payne and Zayn Malik of One Direction ("The X Factor" U.K. third-place place finalist in 2010) were in England. Payne tweeted: "Wowww im looking forward to 2013!Thank you for all your support in 2012,its been a year i will never forget! Love you all! Happy new yearrrr." Britney Spears ("The X Factor" U.S. judge) was at home in California with her two sons and recently adopted puppy Hannah. She tweeted: "Spending a quiet New Years Eve in with my boys and little miss @hannahspears. Let's hear some interesting resolutions for 2013?"
Demi Lovato ("The X Factor" U.S. judge) was in Punta Mita, Mexico. On New Year's Eve, she was in a positive and upbeat mood. She tweeted: "Two years ago, I watched the ball drop on TV in rehab and cried my eyes out. Tonight I'm on the beach with my closest, most loyal friends... sipping coffee and sharing how beautiful life is and how far we've come. Recovery is a beautiful thing friends. Samantha Jade ("The X Factor" Australia 2012 winner) was in Perth, Australia, where she performed at The Crown.
