The cast of the 16th season of Dancing With the Stars was announced this morning on Good Morning America. Brooke Burke and Tom Bergeron joined GMA's Lara Spencer and Sam Champion to make the 8:15 a.m. announcement.
Yesterday, EW revealed that Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was joining the cast. If you recall, the Baltimore Ravens just won the Super Bowl so what better way to celebrate than by joining the DWTS cast?
The other dancers were revealed in this order: Country music singer Wynonna Judd with dancing partner Tony Dovolini, comedian, D.L. Hughley with Cheryl Burke, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones with Karina Smirnoff, restauranteur and author Lisa Vanderpump with new dancing coach Gleb Savchenko, comedian Andy Dick with Sharna Burgess, boxer Victor Ortiz with Lindsay Arnold of So You Think You Can Dance, teen triple threat on Disney's Shake It Up Zendaya with Val Chmerkovskiy, gold medal olympic winning gymnast Aly Raisman with Mark Ballas, General Hospital alum Indigo Rademacher with Kim Johnson, country singer and American Idol alum Kelly Pickler with Derek Hough, and 1976 olympic figure skating champion Dorothy Hamill with Tristan MacManus.
It seems that DWTS is repeating old trends by having a General Hospital alum, an Olympic skater and a football player. They have done this before with the first winner of DWTS and General Hospital alum Kelly Monaco, retired Dallas Cowboys football player Emmitt Smith and Olympic speed skater Apollo Ono. They all went on to win DWTS in their respective seasons.
DWTS premieres on Monday, Mar. 18 at 8 p.m. So what do you think of the season 16 DWTS cast?
