In WWE WrestleMania 29 results, one of the biggest matches on the card featured CM Punk vs. The Undertaker. In this match, the legendary undefeated streak was on the line, since "The Deadman" is 20-0 at WrestleMania. Would he go 21-0, or would Punk hand him his first-ever loss at the big Pay-Per-View?
According to a report on April 7 from ProWrestling.net, the match included multiple near finishes from both CM Punk and Undertaker. At one point, Taker had the Hell's Gate submission locked onto Punk, but Punk countered for an Anaconda Vice. At another point, Taker hit a Tombstone Piledriver after escaping the GTS. However, CM Punk kicked out, causing the crowd to go hysterical at the close finish.
Later in the match, the referee was knocked down, and Undertaker had CM Punk ready for The Last Ride. However, Paul Heyman was able to pass the urn to Punk and he used it to knock down "The Phenom." As the ref came to, it seemed Punk was about to end the streak via pinfall, but Taker once again escaped the pin. In the closing moments, Taker grabbed Punk and had him up for the Tombstone Piledriver again, but Punk escaped it. He set up for a GTS finish, but Taker escaped that, then finally hit the final move, a Tombstone Piledriver for the win.
Post-match, Undertaker retrieved the urn that Punk had taken, which belonged to the late Paul Bearer. Fireworks shot off behind MetLife Stadium with 21-0 appearing up the big screen to commemorate the latest Undertaker win.
With the victory, The Undertaker is now 21-0 all-time at the WrestleMania Pay-Per-View. Of course, with this win the door is now open again, leaving fans to wonder who might challenge "The Deadman" for WrestleMania 30 next year, should Taker's health permit it.
