In the opening match of WWE's Vengeance PPV, the reigning WWE tag-team champions Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston were able to successfully retain their tag titles by defeating Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. According to a Sunday October 23rd report by WrestlingInc.com, the champs scored the pinfall on Ziggler after Dolph was hit with Kofi's "Trouble In Paradise" and Evan's "Air-Bourne".
The match started out fast as the champs made several quick tags. Eventually the heel team took over and used Evan as the sacrificial lamb. Kofi was able to make the hot tag after Evan took a beating. The finish came when Evan knocked Swagger out of the ring and each man hit their finisher on Ziggler.
Unfortunately for Dolph, he had to wrestle in the next match against Zack Ryder for Ziggler's US championship belt. As Dolph was laying in the ring trying to recover from the beating by Air-Boom, Ryder's music hit. Ryder took control of the match right away and took it to Ziggler. Air-Boom stayed outside the ring to support Ryder as Swagger was in Dolph's corner.
The finish of the match came when Ryder got distracted by Swagger, after nailing Jack with a drop kick, and then ate a super kick and the Zig Zag from Dolph. Ziggler scores the pin and keeps his title.
