Prior to the event, there is a special Kickoff show that counts down to the actual TLC shows. For 30 minutes, fans will get expert analysis and predictions from a panel of selected WWE stars. For TLC, the panel will include former WWE Champion The Miz, as well as WWE Hall of Famers Mick Foley and Houston's own Booker T. There will also be a match for the fans, as Dolph Ziggler will square off against the man known as Fandango.
The Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs, as Big E. Langston will defend against "The Intellectual Savior of the Masses," Damien Sandow. Over the last few weeks, we've seen a big change out of the champion, distancing himself from Divas Champion AJ Lee, and focusing on more important issues than her dirty work. Can he hang onto the gold, or will Sandow pull off the title win?
Speaking of the Divas Champion, AJ has her hands full this Sunday as she defends against Natalya. AJ has been on a crusade against the entire Divas division this year, and has caught the attention of a very determined challenger in the process. Can AJ continue her streak of dominance or can Natalya lock in the Sharpshooter and capture the title?
Fans will also see a pair of 3-on-1 Handicap Matches this Sunday at TLC. The first will see former WWE Champion CM Punk square off against The Shield. It's been an extremely productive year for the trio of Dean Abrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Since their debut last year at the Survivor Series, they've steamrolled through the WWE locker room and left a wake of bodies along the way. While The Shield initially burst onto the scene helping Punk in his WWE Championship reign, that partnership has gone down in flames. Punk will have his hands full, as he tries to survive this assault with nobody in his corner.
The other handicap match will see Daniel Bryan go after The Wyatt Family. After Bray Wyatt caused a disqualification in Bryan's match against Erick Rowan on this week's "SmackDown," Bryan retaliated by placing a running boot to his face. Bryan has faced constant adversity this year, from being unable to capture a WWE Championship reign to his recent issues with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The Wyatts have a golden opportunity to dismantle Bryan this Sunday in Houston, in a match put together by his former tag partner and newest Director of Operations, Kane. Bryan will have to overcome some serious odds if he wants to emerge victorious at the Toyota Center.
The main event of TLC will feature the signature namesake of the pay per view. WWE Champion Randy Orton squares off against World Heavyweight Champion John Cena in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. The winner will walk out of the Toyota Center as the unified Champion of Champions. This past Monday night, a rift was wedged between the longtime friendship of Orton and Triple H, when Orton inadvertently knocked Stephanie McMahon to the mat. On Friday, Triple H assured Orton that he was more than sure where his faith lies, though not confirming it was with Orton. It will be very interesting to see where that supposed "faith" truly lies this Sunday, as it has been guaranteed that one man will walk out with both titles at the end of TLC.
WWE TLC will be live on pay per view this Sunday from Houston's Toyota Center. The Kickoff pregame show can be seen on the WWE website as well as their YouTube page. For more information, check out the Houston Pro Wrestling Examiner page on Facebook as well as follow along on Twitter.
