According to a report published recently by the Wrestling Observer, the Undertaker's opponent for next year's Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans will be former UFC and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. The match could be a huge attraction for WWE, of course that is if the Undertaker feels healthy enough to perform. The legendary wrestler's in-ring performances have become very rare and isolated almost entirely around Wrestlemania main events over the last few years due to numerous injuries and WWE wanting to protect his longevity. This match up has reportedly been in place for awhile now with an alternate plan that had Lesnar facing movie star Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson at WM30, but recently inside sources claim that Lesnar/Undertaker is the direction that WWE is looking to take.
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar has been talked about as a possible Wrestlemania match since 2010, when 'Taker had a verbal altercation with Brock Lesnar on camera, just moments after Lesnar lost a UFC pay per view main event bout. The exchange which can be viewed at this link, sparked immediate debate and speculation about Lesnar returning to WWE (which did indeed happen in 2012) and when he would lock up with the Deadman on the WWE stage.
In the last few months, internet fans and wrestling media outlets were looking at several wrestling stars who could possibly get the coveted role of the man to challenge the Undertaker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. The short list in most circles had TNA and WCW legend Sting, former WWE Champion John Cena, and Lesnar as the most likely candidates. It now appears that Lesnar is going to be the Undertaker's dance partner at the biggest WWE event of 2014, unless plans change which is always a possibility.
