The Wrestling Observer reported yesterday that WWE will announce the site of Wrestlemania 31 in 2015 as Santa Clara, California. WWE has not officially confirmed this story but a formal announcement is expected this coming Tuesday. The venue for the mega-show will be Levi’s Stadium which is the home of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League and the Super Bowl in 2016. WWE Raw will take place in San Jose the night after Wrestlemania 31.
Santa Clara will also host the Wrestlemania week festivities including the Wrestlemania Fan Axxess convention, the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and several charity events at multiple venues that are yet-to-be determined.
Santa Clara which is a short trip from San Francisco, beats out Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the 2015 'Mania. Earlier this year multiple sources reported that both Santa Clara and Philly were the two finalists for the 2015 Wrestlemania and that tourism officials from both cities made formal bid presentations to WWE.
Santa Clara officials should celebrate about the upcoming economic impact that WWE's grandest event will bring to their community. Last month, news came out that Wrestlemania 29 which sold out Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey brought over a $100 million to local businesses in revenue to both New Jersey and New York City.
WWE will bring Wrestlemania 30 to New Orleans, Louisiana at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday April 6, 2105.
