WWE Superstars on the 'Upside': CM Punk, Air Boom and Zack Ryder rise on RAW

WWE always has superstars and divas who are on the ascension and ruling the high-profile main events on TV and PPV. For their to be an “UP”, there has to be a “DOWN”. WWE has several wrestlers who are down in the dumps as curtain jerkers with losing streaks and doubtful futures.  Let’s look at both sides of this coin.
in.
  • THE SUPERSTARS ON THE UPSIDE
CM PUNK
He may been unsuccessful in his last two PPV main events for WWE Championship but the Voice of the Voiceless is once again the number 1 contender. Alberto Del Rio will defend the gold against Punk in the most famous arena the in the world, Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series. Punk’s buzzed-about rise to the top this past summer may have cooled, but it’s time to see the Second City Saint climb the mountain one more.

ZACK RYDER
The self-proclaimed Internet Champion has become a lovable highlight on WWE since his popular “Long Island Iced Z” series broke him into the big picture. Ryder’s passion for WWE oozes through everything he does and his goofy persona gives him a strong connection to the WWE fanabse. Ryder did come up short in his U.S Championship match with Dolph Ziggler at WWE Vengeance, but it’s likely not the last time we see the Woo Wooo Woo man challenge Ziggler for the title. Let’s hope WWE takes Ryder’s rise seriously, bro.

WADE BARRETT
A clean victory over Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan this past week on Smackdown pumps new life into Wade Barret’ current status. Barrett beat Bryan at Summerslam in August only to have no push following the match. If you keep looking back, it’s hard to believe that Barrett was the biggest heel in WWE last year. The Brittish newcomer lead the Nexus into war with John Cena and had a series of high profile matches with the mega-star of the company on Pay Per View in 2010.

AIR BOOM
Kofi Kingston had stalled near the upper mid-card when he was a single star after holding the Intercontinental and United States Championships before he teamed with the young Evan Bourne. The two wrestlers fit well together as they are both fast in the ring and they fly through the air like few can in WWE. So when these two won the WWE Tag Team Championship it signaled that the long ailing state of tag team wrestling in WWE was not dead. Air Boom put on quite a performance with Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler this past Sunday at WWE Vengeance.
