WWE superstar Kane enters Money in the Bank championship ladder match

According to a June 24 post from Bleacher Report, Kane has been entered into the championship ladder match set to go down this weekend in Boston at the WWE Money in the Bank special event. Kane qualified for the match by stomping out all seven of the previously announced WWE title ladder match contestants during the most recent episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Kane's entry into the match adds a new layer of intrigue.

Before Kane was officially entered into the WWE Money in the Bank ladder match, it was widely expected that John Cena would reign supreme at the event. Since Daniel Bryan's heavyweight title was stripped and the title is now up for grabs at WWE Money in the Bank, the rumor was that Cena would win and then advance to face Brock Lesnar later this summer at SummerSlam. With Kane now in the mix, it seems the WWE is trying to throw fans for a little loop.

If Kane should win the championship ladder match at WWE Money in the Bank, it could lead to another feud with his biggest rival, Daniel Bryan. While Bryan is still sidelined due to a neck injury, the WWE could use this time to build up Kane as a legitimate threat to notch the belt at WWE Money in the Bank. Scripting Kane to win the belt would be the right move, as he would then have to defend it against Bryan when the time is right.

Kane and Bryan have a long history, with plenty of memorable matches between them having already been completed. Kane vs. Bryan for the heavyweight title could easily headline one of the WWE's future pay-per-view cards. However, there's a chance Kane being entered into the WWE Money in the Bank ladder match is just a tactic to confuse fans and make things not so predictable.

The WWE Money in the Bank ladder match for the vacant heavyweight championship title now features eight men, including Alberto Del Rio, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, John Cena, Kane, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Sheamus. Since the WWE has already hinted that Lesnar will headline SummerSlam against the WWE heavyweight champ, it seemed likely that a babyface would win at WWE Money in the Bank.

The WWE wants to avoid a heel vs. heel scenario for the SummerSlam main event, so that narrows down the possible WWE Money in the Bank winners to Cena, Reigns or Sheamus. But now with Kane in the mix, the WWE could go any number of ways with the script. WWE Money in the Bank, which also features a WWE Divas championship bout between Paige and Naomi, is set for June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston.
